If tTG IgA is equivocal, then endomysial antibodies IgA and deamidated gliadin antibody IgA will be performed at an additional charge. Deamidated gliadin IgA has sensitivity and specificity for celiac disease diagnosis of approximately 87% and 97%, respectively. Negative results indicate a decreased likelihood of celiac disease. In terms of serology, celiac disease is associated with a variety of autoantibodies, including endomysial, tissue transglutaminase (tTG), and deamidated gliadin antibodies. The gliadin antibody test is used to help diagnose celiac disease or monitor its treatment.
