The fitting needed a rubber washer to hold on to the cord tightly, but it fit fine. I got this to replace the shade for the Ikea Regolit Floor lamp. When the shade got broken, I replaced it with a big standard shade and put a new 'vintage brass' replacement fitting on the end of the existing cord. I'm SO HAPPY I got this instead. This was the only option I could find besides doing a DIY Ikea hack. I still have my regolit from about twelve years ago.
